Please note that there will be construction on Gilbert Road this fall and winter. You will still be able to access Gateway and park in our lot and in the Hospital lot. However, at some points during the construction process, you will only be able to turn into Gateway when travelling north on Gilbert Road. Please ensure you allow for extra travel time when attending events at Gateway.

Enhance your current theatre training

Ready to take your theatre training to the next level? Apply to the Gateway Theatre Conservatory today! Twelve participants will be selected to learn from and connect with industry professionals.

The Gateway Theatre Conservatory is a training program that provides participants the unique opportunity to:

  • Explore elements of performance, production, and the theatre industry
  • Participate 8 workshops led by outstanding theatre professionals such as
    - Directing with Jovanni Sy
    - Playwriting & Autobiographic writing with Tetsuro Shigematsu
    - Text and Movement with Melissa Oei
    - And much more!
  • Watch and study all 6 Siganture Series shows at Gateway Theatre including Les Belles-SoeursEmpire of the SonIt’s a Wonderful LifeYoga PlayGross Misconduct, and GLORY

Applicant Criteria

  • Age 16 to 22
  • Are currently training or are in the early stages of their theatre career
  • Demonstrate a commitment to devoting more time to their artistic activity
  • Devote a minimum of 24 hours per week to their art
  • Demonstrate a readiness for the learning and commitment

Cost
Successful applicants will be required to pay a $150 (A portion of the program fee has already been subsidised, thanks to the RBC Foundation!)

        • What are your interests and objectives as a theatre artist?
        • What makes you an ideal candidate?
        • Is there anything else you’d like to add or say?

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: September 9, 2018. Extended to September 16, 2018! Successful applicants will be notified by September 21, 2018. Please note: only successful applicants will be notified.
